Meat Shipping

What shipping carrier do you use?

We use UPS.

Do you ship fresh or frozen?

We only ship frozen meat products. We freeze our meat to maintain highest quality.

How are the animals raised?

We raise our animals the way you imagine they should be, with the health of the animals, the soil, and the people involved at the forefront of our decision making.

We believe that through a close relationship with our animals and moving them to fresh pastures constantly we can actually improve the health of our farm. Creating deeper topsoil, cleaner water, and more biodiversity on the landscape. All while producing food we are proud to feed our own families.

Our animals are completely pasture raised. Our cows and sheep spend all their time outdoors rotating to fresh grass daily and eating hay in winter. Our poultry and pigs also spend their days outdoors, rotating to fresh pastures constantly and eating local organic grains.

We never use GMOs, herbicides, or pesticides on or around any of our livestock.

Our farm is Certified Organic and Certified Real Organic. However, despite our pastures, grain, and hay being Certified Organic our meat is not certified. This is largely due to the lack of access to Certified Organic meat processors in our region. This is something we are looking to change in the future.

Each of the five animal species is very different and have a lot of unique aspects to their care here on the farm. We’ll flesh this out in more detail for you this winter. Please check back.

What states do you ship to?

We are currently shipping to:

CT, DE, DC, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT, WV

When will my order ship?

We ship meat orders on Wednesdays. Cut off to make that week's shipping is every Sunday at midnight. All orders placed after the cut off (Sundays at midnight) will ship the following Wednesday shipping day (up to 9 days later). This is due to the need for acquiring dry ice and coordinating delivery logistics.

Once your order is picked up by UPS and in their system you will receive tracking information so you can follow it's progress.

We are unable to ship perishable products on holidays as UPS does not pick up on holidays and weekends.

Shipping Whole Turkeys:

We only ship whole holiday Thanksgiving turkeys on 11/20/24. All orders containing other meat items in addition to whole turkey need to meet order minimum and free shipping thresholds to apply. All meat that also contain whole turkeys will ship on the next available shipping date except the whole turkey which will ship on 11/20/24.

Is there an order minimum?

Yes. There is a $100 minimum for meat orders to ensure that there is enough thermal mass and that all items stay cold in the shipping process.

Orders containing whole turkeys must meet order minimum minus the turkey price due to the fact that the turkeys ship separately for the holidays.

How do I get FREE shipping?

Receive FREE shipping on $250+ orders for blue and green States from the map below.

We are unable to ship to gray States at the moment, but hope to in the near future. Thank you for your understanding.

Shipping: How It Works

Step 1: Order at anytime.

The minimum order for meat shipments is $100. This ensures that items stay cold during transit. All blue and green states from the map below receive FREE shipping once orders reach $250.

Step 2: We receive your order, print labels, and pack up your order every Wednesday, excluding holidays. You are notified once a shipping label is created.

Step 3: UPS picks up your order. Once your order in the UPS system you will be emailed tracking information to follow it's progress.

Step 4: Your order is delivered. Once you receive your package, ensure that all items are cold or partially frozen (at or below 40 degrees F). You can then place your items in the freezer for use later unless they are partially thawed. Insert partially thawed items in the refrigerator (lowest possible shelf/drawer) for up to 7 days.

Step 5: All our packaging is road side recyclable, please recycle.

How do you ship frozen meat through the mail?

To ensure that the meat arrives at your home, still frozen, we package it in an insulted freezer box with dry ice.

Open your box with care, as there may still be dry ice in the box that can freeze your skin on contact.

How do I dispose of the packaging material?

All of our packaging is road side recyclable.

What if an item is missing from my order?

We double check all our packing slips prior to closing boxes for shipment. If you find a damaged item or box please send photos and information to hannah@fingerlakesciderhouse.com.

If your order is missing an item please send photos of packing slip and order along with any other information to hannah@fingerlakesciderhouse.com. This helps us understand what went wrong.

Are you Certified Organic?

Yes, our farm is USDA certified Organic and certified Real Organic BUT our meat products are not officially certified.

They are raised on Organic pasture and fed Organic feed/hay, but we do not use a certified Organic processors due to lack of facilities in our region and logistics.

Do you use GMOs?

Absolutely not!

No hormones. No antibiotics. No GMOs. No pesticides or herbicides.

Can I visit the farm?

Absolutely! We are open daily for food, cider, and more.

Animals are usually farther away and harder to get to and not accessible everyday. They can be visited during a tour.
